The Dreams Ends Here vs USA in Rd of Last 8 26.08.06

Hi All

Well its the end of the road i am afraid for us in this first ever party poker world cup of pool. It was not meant to be as we eventually went out to the highly experienced duo of Rodney Morris and Earl Strickland. The USA pairing played a near faultless game and never really gave us much chnace nor opportunity in this match. Credit is given where credit is due, they played great.

It is always dissapointing to lose in any tournament even more so when this one was so high profile and one we realy had fun in playing in. I am sure those who see the Hong Kong matches on TV will not be dissapointed and appreciate the entertainment!

For now the end is here. I am Flying to Reno on 31st August for preparation for IPT World 8 Ball Open. I will be updating you all on my progress.

Another Memorable Upset vs Russia 25.08.06 In Last 16

Hi All

Well would you believe it! I did it again. Hong Kong is now in the quarter-final of the party poker world cup of pool! yes and that does mean there are 8 teams left. The phillipines, the USA now Hong Kong! This is absolutely brilliant and right now i cannot tell you how happy i am!

With all due respect to the Russians we did not really fear them after overcoming Sweden in the 1st Rd. I feel that we are at least 50/50 to win this game and it proved to be an almost error strewn game which fortunately ended in out favour 9-8!

It was a game full of mistakes and tension to say the least so best leave it to you all when it is shown later on Sky Sports in about 3 weeks time. Dont miss it!

Now up for us is the mighty USA! Well lets go....

Memorable Performance 23.08.06 Vs Sweden in Last 32

Hi All

I would just like to apologise for not being able to keeping you updated last week at the party poker world cup of pool. Unfortunately the Hilton Hotel where i was staying during the tournament experienced a bad storm the week before and therefore affected the hotel phone lines. So it was unfortunate that i could not give you live updates from the week!

Most of you probably found out by now that we pulled of the performance of our lifes and manage to defeat the number 6 seeds Sweden. For more please click on the following link.

It was unbelivably fun playing in front of the cameras and i can tell you that i enjoyed every part of the win as i know not many expected it and that made it even more satisfying! We were behind the whole match but we remained strong and confident.

The press have since gone nuts in HK..numerous interviews in UK and HK has really made me realised what we have actually done here. We are now in the Last 16 of the world cup of pool and now we play Russia.

Thanks for those who supported me!

BPPPA Solihull - What A Struggle 19.08.2006

Well i decided to go to the BPPPA 9 Ball event at Solihull today. The BPPPA is the only proffessional 9 ball tour in the UK. This is where it all began for me few years back so it is only right if i attend this onle as especially it is only on my doorstep! This is the closest one to me so it would be rude not to attend.

How wrong i was! wow what a struggle, without making too many excuses i got beat in the last 48 and as much as i like to tell you that my opponent played well and it was a great event blah blah blah etc well i cant! The main reason for the struggle was that i have never played in conditions like that for over a year.

Over the last year maybe because i have been spoilt with the proper equipment and proper tournament conditions where ever i have been competed throughout the world. To be back playing in these conditions in the UK in these pool clubs actually did more harm than good for my game.

I dont think i will be stepping back and playing in anymore of these conditions as it is almost impossible to play and can see no good what so ever for my game. I cannot think of any good what playing in these conditions can do for me. The only good thing about these tournaments is that i can have a chin wag with many of my old friends on the tour.

I am in no way intentionally offending or disrespecting anyone or organisation, its just a personal conclusion that i have come to. I was brought up with these tours and very much greatful but time has moved on for me and i still wish all well who competes on it.

World Cup 9 ball - Hong kong Vs Sweden 22-27 August

Hi all, i will be in Newport, Wales for the World Cup Of Pool commencing 22nd-27th August. This is an invitational event organised by matchrooom sport. For further information please check out www.worldcupofpool.com

Well the draw has been made and we (Hong Kong) have been drawn against the no.6 seeds Sweden, the team is very experienced made up of Marcus Chamat (Multiple Moscnoi Cup Player) and Tom Storm (Former European No.1). We will have our hands full and even the bookies do not give us much chance with Stan James quoting us 15/8 to win the match and 150/1 to win the world cup!

To be honest i am never one to worry about what people think, we can all have opinions so in this instance the bookies have theirs and i am fine with that. But make no mistake me and my partner are quietly confident and whilst many will consider if we beat Sweden to be a shock, but for sure we wont as we know we are definately dark horses for this tournament....I will be updating our progress live from Wales.

EPT Harrow 12.08.206

Well i landed only yesterday but because Harrow is right near Heaththrow airport i thought i might as well play in the newly established 8 ball event organised by the Empire Pool Tour. The EPT is the brainchild of UK top player Daryl Peach.

Well i have to admit that 1st impression of the EPT is very impressive. No less than 100 players turned up at the Harrow event. there was a galaxy of superstars from around the globe attending this event, some noticable names include snooker star Ronnie O'Sullivan, 2001 World 9 Ball Champion Mika Immonen, Mosconi star Marcus Chamat, Darren Appleton, Daryl Peach, Raj Hundal, Imran Majid and many more names to mention. It was a truly world class field and this was my 1st tournament after just arriving hours earlier from Hong Kong!

Well the day started of great, won my 1st match in the last 128 10-0 with no less than 4 break and run outs from my breaks. The format was alternate break so every player had a fair crack at the whip! I then went on to win my 2nd match in the last 64 10-5 against Lee Rigby, however for some reason i didnt play very well in this match but still manage to win, so far so good and now in round of 32 and need to win one more qualify for final 16 to be played the day after!

In the round of 32 i was up against former UK 8 ball World Champion Carl Morris of Stoke who i have much respect for and a friend an dplayer that i have know over the years. However it wasnt meant to be, i lost the match 10-4 and credits given where credit is due, from 4-4 Carl played well and combination of jetlag, fatigue and good play form Carl meant i was out!

Well i guess one consolation is that i can go home and finally catch up on my sleep! It was a superbly run tournament throughout and i think the EPT can only get better from here. For your information the tournament was eventually won by Daryl Peach.

Back in UK! 11.08.2006

Hi all, finally landed back in UK after a 12hour flight from Hong Kong. The scene was amzing at heathrow with the security and bombscare etc. I am not sure if its a great time to come back but i guess i had no choice as i have commitments over here for next couple of months.

I have not been back since January and i am already homesick. I left my girlfriend back at home and am missing here insanely already! Although i have only been living in Hong Kong for over a year its already a place that i call my home and everytime i go away i miss it madly!

I guess its not a bad thing being here for the next couple of months as i get to see my parents aswell as catching up with friends on the pool tour in the UK. My schedule for the next couple of months allows me to be based back in UK and i am looking forward to catching up with my family and friends.

Well see you all soon...
